About Me

"The best way to predict the future is to invent it." —Alan Kay

I have been haunted by this quote ever since I first read it. Every time when I get bored, it pops into my head and it doesn't leave until I have done something Meaningful.

I believe every person has different strengths and weaknesses. Those traits should be explored in order to find the right path for oneself. To me, that path is the one that offers opportunities to challenge one's strengths and chance to work one's weaknesses. But it is also the most natural, fulfilling and effective way to live.
I think that I have found my path. Ever since I was a child, I have loved exploring how different things work (and yes - this meant a lot of broken stuff), as well as creating something new and useful by combining and modifying existing objects. And last but not least - I have loved "hacking" tedious tasks by coming up with new, original ways to accomplish them (e.g. when I was doing letter writing exercises, I did two lines at a time by holding two pencils - a technique from which my handwriting suffered).
The passion of exploring and inventing made me better at exact sciences like math and physics. Also, I was absolutely absorbed by gadgets, pocket and video games and eventually everything to do with computers. So by the time I had to make a decision about what to study after school it was pretty obvious that: math + computers = programming.
After I made this key career choice I have been, naturally, following it. While doing so, I am trying out a variety of activities to improve as a person (that is why I have so many hobbies) - snowboarding, tennis, swimming, photography, music (drums and flute) and many more.
Lately I'm very interested in machine learning and data science as a whole. Over the past 6 months I have dedicated my time to reading articles, following courses and exploring datasets. I would be thrilled to expand my experience in this field.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Informatics (2013-2017)

Sofia University - Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics (FMI)

My alma mater, FMI is an essential place for the software industry in Sofia. This is where most companies seek out passionate students to join their team. One of the strongest sides of the Faculty is the additional courses it offers, which are attended by students and professionals alike. I personally like the curriculum - which focuses more on the mathematics and abstractions rather the hottest platforms and frameworks. Here I met great colleagues and friends. One of the best experiences druing my studies is the traditional hackathon called HackFMI in which I always participate order to get motivation, face new challenges and learn new things. I met Chobolab's CTO on the first HackFMI when he was mentoring.
In FMI I found about Obecto and started working while studying.

Computer Programming (2007-2012)

Technology school “Electronic Systems” (TUES), - Computer Programming Class

ELSYS a.k.a TUES or School under the authority of Technical University of Sofia for me is with no doubt the best high school in Bulgaria to learn about computers. I joined the Computer Programming class and I got solid foundations in subjects ranging from Math and Electronic systems to Object-Oriented Programming, Operating Systems and Internet Programming. The teachers were either visiting univeristy proffesors or ex-students that are now working professionals. Biside the excellent curriculum, there were many great after-class courses which I attended such as Robotics, Embeded Systems, Game Development, CISCO and others.
Here I got reffered for my first software devlopment job - iOS Developer at Buzlylabs.
